RAMCHECK LX/RAMCHECK Power Supplies
- Q. If necessary, can I replace the RAMCHECK
power supply with one that we have in house, or with one acquired locally?
A. We strongly recommend that replacement power supplies be acquired from us,
as we do fine tuning of lower voltage to reduce the heat that is dissipated
inside the tester. However, if you have technical knowledge of power supplies,
you may replace it with a new one, only if it is polarized in the same manner
as the original power supply (center positive) AND it meets the output rating
for CURRENT and VOLTAGE.
For the RAMCHECK LX, the power supply's voltage is 9V with current output of
4.4A to 5.0A. For testing DDR3 and DDR4, we recommend using 9V/5.0A.
For RAMCHECK, the power supply's voltage must NOT
exceed 6.90V at actual current of 3 Amp. We use a 7.00V/4.4A power supply which
is carefully adjusted for 6.90V at 4.0 Amp.
Please note that using a power supply not supplied by INNOVENTIONS may void your warranty.
- Q. Can the RAMCHECK LX power supply be
used with the older RAMCHECK unit and vice versa?
A. Absolutely not, because the power supplies have different specifications. Using
the RAMCHECK LX power supply with the RAMCHECK may cause overheat damage. Using
the RAMCHECK power supply with RAMCHECK LX will not allow the testing
of large, modern DDR3/4 modules. The unit may report that the voltage of the power supply
is too low.
