SIMCHECK II Memory Tester Adapters

1. Q. Which optional adapters are available for the new SIMCHECK II family? Why do you make so many adapters?
   A. Since memory devices are available in a variety of forms, we had to add numerous adapters to support them. Please review the adapters list to see our solutions to test individual chips, S.O. DIMMs, memory cards, and many other devices. The wide variety of adapters available for the modular SIMCHECK II family enhance its value to our customers, and we continue to develop more.
   
   
2. Q. Do I need to buy the Sync DIMMCHECK 168 if I have already purchased the SIMCHECK II/IIse PLUS?
   A. No. The Sync DIMMCHECK 168 is included with both the SIMCHECK II PLUS and the SIMCHECK II se PLUS.
   
   
3. Q. What are the most popular adapters for the SIMCHECK II/IIse PLUS?
   A. The Sync DIMMCHECK 144 for the 144-pin S.O. DIMM modules used in Laptop computers is our most popular optional adapter. The Sync CHIP Tester is popular with memory manufacturers and repair facilities that use the SIMCHECK II PLUS.
   
   
4. Q. Can 72-p or 30-p modules be tested with the Sync DIMMCHECK 168 attached?
   A. The Sync DIMMCHECK 168 is a test adapter that focuses SIMCHECK's program to respond only to 168-pin modules inserted in its 168-pin socket. Attempting to test a 72-pin or a 30-pin SIMM while the Sync DIMMCHECK 168 Adapter is connected will result in errors, therefore when testing SIMMs, please REMOVE the Sync DIMMCHECK 168 as it is not integrated into the tester.
   
   
5. Q. Can SIMCHECK II test RAMBUS RIMMs?
   A. Not at this time. The testing technology is currently in development, and we are planning an upgrade path for the SIMCHECK II.
   
   
6. Q. Can SIMCHECK II test DDR SDRAM devices?
   A. Not at this time. The testing technology is currently in development, and we are planning an upgrade path for the SIMCHECK II.
   
   
7. Q. Can the adapters from the old SIMCHECK PLUS work on the new SIMCHECK II family?
   A. Adapters used with the 40-BIT PORT can be used directly on SIMCHECK II, while others that need the SIMCHECK SIP socket, will require the SIP Adapter for use on SIMCHECK II. Some adapters, such as the HP WS adapter, the x39 IBM adapter, the 3.3V 72P adapter, and the Single -CAS Adapter are not needed with SIMCHECK II as these modules are already supported directly by SIMCHECK II.
   
   
8. Q. Can any of the Sync DIMMCHECK Adapters work on the old SIMCHECK PLUS?
   A. No. The Sync DIMMCHECK Adapters use advanced circuitry that cannot function with the older SIMCHECK PLUS equipment.
