DIMMCHECK 168P PRO PRODUCT MODIFICATION

This document is intended for SIMCHECK owners who are receiving wrong PRD code readings on their DIMMCHECK 168P PRO adapter. The problem lies in the U1 PAL chip of the adapter and results in the last PRD setting of your module always being read as 0.

SIMCHECK owners will either wish to perform this modification, or to simply order factory replacement PAL chips. Customers who require support for the SPD devices must purchase a PAL replacement kit (p/n INN-8484-10-KIT1).

Procedure:

• 1. Identify the socketed U1 PAL chip on your DIMMCHECK 168P PRO adapter.
• 2. Using an IC tool, carefully remove the IC chip.
• 3. Identify pin 15 of the chip. With a regular flat blade screwdriver, or needle nose pliers, bend pin 15 up.
• 4. With a pair of sharp cutters, cut this pin as close to the chips body as possible. This is to insure that no contact will be made when it is reinserted into the socket. Pin 15 is not used at all, therefore, other test results will be unaffected.
• 5. Reinsert the chip into its socket.
